Living with Extremes: Identifying Middle Ground
"It's extremes. Finding balance, I think it's beyond confidence in yourself. You don't even know who you are, you know. If you've been told since the day you were born you're a piece of shit and you don't have a brain, much less ever use it, you carry that on through the whole life, you don't know who you are." (p.88)

Snow Day for UBC
SNOW DAY!! UBC is closed down. No work or meetings or appointments for me today!
[pictures to be uploaded at some point]
Ok, I sound more enthusiastic than I am. I got up early and bussed to campus for an appointment, saw that the student health place was closed. Trekked across campus to my department for a meeting, and found that building was closed too. Then I hoofed it to a bus stop that had been shut down, and found one that was in operation on an alternate route. But buses are all funky delayed today, and as the crowd waited for a certain bus, a jackass decided to swerve over to the right-side of the road and spray us all with partially-frozen, dirty road slush. Grrr. And I didn't have a chance to eat today.
So now I am back home and have some Chef Boyardee raviolis in my tummy and am feelng less crabby. Time to go shopping for a keyboard tray/drawer thingy so I can play WoW without hurting my wrists. (more on my wrist issues later). I just hope that the shops I want to visit are open today.'
... time passes...
Well, I ended up not going shopping but instead freaked out a bit and Brett consoled me. I'll see if I want to start talking about such things here. It's like "coming out" about my personal issues. The mid-day sleep was very nice. I have been jet-lagged in a way because of staying up at night and sleeping during the day occasionally. So now my body has just decided to shut down at random times during the day.
Had an awesome time cooking lasagne from scratch and playing Telepaths with Brett, Paul, and Disha.
While doing a quick websearch for a decent description of Telepaths, I came across this webpage:
http://www.educationallearninggames.com/family-board-games-5.asp
Two things.
1) Seems like a good online list of family board games, which I like to play.
2) "THE SELF-ESTEEM GAME"
Petter, my friend, I now dub thee mayor of Mopesville.

Play the game that builds, boosts and bolsters Self-Esteem!
